Dr Boris Ruggiero is a specialist general surgeon with colorectal interest.
Graduating from the prestigious Medical School of Milan, Italy in 2002, Dr Ruggiero moved to the UK for most of his surgical training, taking a particular interest in laparoscopic colorectal surgery.
In 2013, he moved to Australia and worked in various tertiary hospitals in Melbourne and Perth – including Peter McCallum Cancer Centre, The Alfred Hospital, Cabrini, Monash Medical Centre and Fiona Stanley Hospital.
Dr Ruggiero passed the Australian Fellowship Examination in 2016 and became a member of The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. He is a specialist general surgeon at Cairns Public and Cairns Private Hospital, with interest in laparoscopic colorectal cancer surgery and most general surgery benign conditions. He is a member of GESA and regularly performs endoscopic procedures.
