Renal Dialysis Unit

The Cairns Private Hospital’s Renal Dialysis Unit has 5 haemodialysis chair stations currently in operation, soon to expand to 8 chairs (each with its own television). We have the option of haemodialysis/haemodiafiltraton treatment using Fresenius 5008 series machines.

The Renal Unit is open six days a week from 8am to 8pm, with morning and afternoon appointments available. We offer an easy point of access for renal treatment in a low traffic area, enabling patients to enjoy a calm, friendly environment with the benefit of a personalised treatment approach to ensure best health outcomes are achieved.

Our experienced Nephrologists are supported by a team of highly specialised renal nurses who are passionate about quality of life and tailoring care to suit the needs of the individual, ensuring patients get the most out of each treatment session.

Complimentary WiFi and Foxtel channels are offered, as well as light snacks.

Dedicated parking is available via the Abbott Street entrance carpark and Council parking permits are available, allowing for street parking free of charge.

Holiday Dialysis

Cairns Private Hospital is located just minutes from the picturesque Cairns Esplanade.

Cairns International Airport is a mere 8 minute drive away (5km), with regular domestic flights servicing Townsville, Mackay, Gold Coast, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Alice Springs and Darwin and International flights to New Zealand, Port Moresby, Bali, Singapore, Shenzhen, Osaka and Tokyo.

The Renal Unit is available all year and welcomes holiday patients, new and returning, to receive treatment whilst holidaying in the region. Currently there are 2 dedicated chairs per day available for holiday use.

*Booking ahead is highly recommended due to the high demand of this service, particularly during the winter months.

The Cairns Private Hospital Renal Unit operates Monday to Saturday from 8.00am to 8.00pm.

*Due to the pleasant winter climate in Cairns from May to October, holiday dialysis is in high demand so advanced bookings are essential.
