Dr Aemelia Melloy is a Specialist General Surgeon with a special interest in Breast and Endocrine Surgery.

Dr Melloy graduated from Griffith University in 2011 and completed her resident medical training at Logan Hospital in Brisbane. She completed her general surgical fellowship at various hospitals – in Brisbane, Gold Coast and Cairns. She obtained her fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2021 and completed a year of additional fellowship training in breast and general surgery at Queen Elizabeth II Hospital in Brisbane.

  • Breast - benign and malignant conditions
  • Endocrine - thyroid and parathyroid surgery
  • Upper GI - removal of gastric band, grastroscopy
  • Hepatobiliary - gallbladder surgery
  • Hernia - laparoscopic and open
  • Colorectal - benign and malignant tumours, small bowel pathology, perianal disease (haemorrhoids, fissure, skin tags), pilonidal sinus, colonoscopy
  • Skin lesions - benign and malignant
  • Emergency general surgery

Prior to surgical training Dr Melloy completed a Bachelor of Music and worked as a Registered Music Therapist for people with dementia. She has a passion for music and enjoys playing both the piano and violin.

Dr Melloy has three children who thoroughly enjoyed relocating to Cairns previously in 2017 as part of her surgical training. Dr Melloy is excited to be able to come back and set up practice in such a beautiful part of Australia.

Dr Melloy consults privately at Flecker House Medical Specialist Suites, accepting referrals via Medical Objects.  

Dr Melloy also holds monthly clinics at Amaroo Medical, Mareeba.
