Dr Richard Wong grew up in Sydney where he graduated from UNSW and worked for many years, both in hospital and in general practice. This included nursing home work.
Dr Wong has always been interested in working in areas of need, serving where there is disparity in healthcare, particularly areas with insufficient numbers of doctors. Hence, this led him during the pandemic to practise in FNQ. Over the years, Richard has travelled to many resource poor countries, which he hopes to dedicate more time to in the future. He is experienced in all standard presentations, with an interest in:
- Aged care
- Paediatrics
- Sports medicine
